All Terrain is not only big in survival running. Our associated foundation organizes one of the most successful adventure races of the Netherlands (AT Challenge). The basis of this sports is orienteering.
Sunday the 13th of October we get a unique offer: you can get to learn orienteering and then practice it on a brand new, crisp orienteering round of the AT challenge held the day before.
In the sport orienteering you get a map in which you typically have to draw points from a list of coordinates you get. In this day’s version you get a fixed time to get as many points as possible. Being late will cost you points, so you have to be smart about which points to get (or really fast). But also if you are less competitive this grown-up sporty treasure hunt activity can be a lot of fun.
The idea is to partner up in duos (although if you really want to do it by yourself than let us know). Don’t have a clue how to put your points in the map? No worries. Since most of you won’t know how to do it exactly, we’ll kick of with an introduction to orienteering before running off.
The location is outside of Eindhoven, so we will first take a bike ride to the starting point. We will gather at the bridge at the shed to cycle there together. If you want to arrange another mode of transport let us know.
There are no costs involved, but do bring your own water and snacks/food/lunch. We will ask you to help with cleaning up afterwards. If you are not a member yet or have no login to the webpage please mail to [anti-spam-tag] and we will make it work ;-).
Note that if you like to have even more experience with finding points and exploring the landscape around Eindhoven volunteers are asked as well to collect points the day before.
