All Terrain is a student sports association which mainly focuses on survival running. We also do mountain biking, (obstacle)running, climbing, mountaineering, canoeing, and orienteering. We train up to three times a week, general survival run training on Wednesday and advanced survival run training on Monday and Friday. We organize a lot of other outdoor sports activities as well during the year. We also organize many weekend getaways during which we go camping somewhere out in nature. Furthermore, we organize courses on climbing techniques, knotting, canoeing, bushcraft and a wide variety of other (social) activities. Do you like being active and would you rather be enjoying the fresh outside air instead of sitting inside in the gym? Then feel free to join a training on Wednesday.
Survivalruns
In a survivalrun, running (on various different types of terrains) is combined with obstacles. Often technique and souplesse are more important than strength. Besides the obstacles which you must complete, you are in a constant battle against the elements. The weather conditions and the terrain play an important role here. For more information check out our survivalrun page.
Adventure racing
An adventure race consists of various different disciplines, mountain biking, canoeing and running are always present in an adventure race. During the race you and your team try to locate various points on a map within the given time. Besides being a physical challenge it therefore also poses a mental challenge. For more information checkout the website of our own adventure race: The All Terrain Challenge.
ORIENTEERING
Orienteering is a race where you must rely upon your map reading skills, along with general running fitness. You are equipped with a map and a compass, and must find all checkpoints to finish the route. Orienteering courses can be ‘urban sprint’ routes, or longer routes throughout nature. Check out our current orienteering routes here.
Outdoor weekends
Besides doing survivalruns and adventure races we also organise many outdoor weekends in which do a variety of different outdoor activities. Mountain biking, climbing and hiking are among the options. During our introduction weekend in November we often plan various activities. For more information check out the pictures of previous weekends.
