Hello All Terrain,

While we continue like madman on the organization of our own run. The constant flow of activities will never end! Here, you can find a bit of information for what’s to come and what’s been done.

For the planning

Only two weeks left until our very own run! For this we could still use some more volunteers. So for more information, you can go to: All Terrain Survival Challenge.

Survival Run Utrecht

For the survival run in Utrecht on the 13th of June we are able to fill 10 spots. But be quick to register, because they are wanted! Registration can be done here: Simius Hircus Run

Ultiem

With the summer getting nearer, it is time to start with the organization of Ultiem. This is our summer holiday for student prizes. If you are interested in this holday, register yourself on the event and we will initiate the organization of the holiday. Event: Ultiem

In the past

Survivalstrijd Delft en SurviFELrun Nijmegen

At the runs of Delft on the 13th of may and the run in Nijmegen on the 22th of may, we did a very good job at not becoming last on a survivalrun. The start has been made, this trend can be continued in order to beat our sister associations at our own run!

HOLHOW

During HOLHOW (which stands for: The Incredibly Long Ascension-day Outdoor Weekend)  we were able to enjoy beautiful weather near the idealistic village of IJzendijke. During the weekend we conquered the sandy beaches of Zeeuws-Vlaanderen and played lots of games. Concluding, it was a very nice weekend! Photo’s will be uploaded soon!

BBQ

Since the lustrum party of the SSC will be today, the training was canceled. In order to keep us of the streets, a nice BBQ was organized. And all of that on one day.

Hello All Terrain,

The honorable task of providing all of you with some information has been past with the previous GA. So this will be the first attempt in doing so.

Review

In the month of April we have been occupied with preparations of the GA. We also had some food, a diving exchange and the Batavierenrace.

International Cooking Night

To celebrate the diversity within the association we organized an International Cooking Night. On the first of April we were able to enjoy all sorts of food and drinks which we, together with 15 people, put our very best effort in.

Diving Workshop

The diving workshop on the 14th of April was in the swimming pool of the SSCE. Although most All Terrainers usually make a lot of noise, the water provided a nice moment of rest. Thanks to the efforts of Scyllus and the organizational skills of Michiel and Femke, the night turned into a great success.

First Friday Training

On the 21th of April, the first Friday training took place. The training is meant to raise the general level of skill to be able to compete with the other Student Survival Associations.

General Assembly

On the 24th of April, we once again gathered at the Trafalgar to elect a new board. With a lot of proud I can introduce you to the 27th board of All Terrain:

– Bram Hurkmans as chairman
– Justin Szanto as secretary
– Michelle van Grinsven as treasurer
– Shin Aung as officer activities
– Bart van Assem as officer public and relations

In the planning

Uitwisseling Tartaros

For those who would like to visit Enschede (again), because they did not join the Bata. We will have an exchange with our sister student survival association Tartaros. This can be combined to a full weekend with a BBQ and a Survival Run in Oldenzaal. Be quick to subscribe yourselves on the website!

Constitution drink

To celebrate that we were able to find a new board yet again and since we’re all students that don’t need a lot of reason to throw a party, we will have another constitution drink. The date will be announced soon.

Survival runs

– Delft: Survival Strijd, 13th May
– Nijmegen: SurviFELrun, 22 May
– Eindhoven: All Terrain Survival Challenge, 10 June
– Utrecht: Uithof Survivalrun, 14 June

Hello All and Old Terrain,

I almost forgot but I am just in time. Here is the newsletter for the month of March.

Review

The past month was nice and quiet, the reason for this being to prepare for all the awesome events we have planned for April. We still did something to put in the review though.

Aerial Silks

As elegant as this has no All Terrainer ever been, this month we had an exchange with the people from aerial silks and received a nice workshop from them. High in the curtains we were explained how to get ourselves into all sorts of beautiful poses. The pictures from this can be found right here on the website.

In the planning

April is going to be a fun month, and after this it is only going to get better! To spare you a bit I will explain the biggest events down here.

Diving Workshop

There is a lot of fun to be had underwater. To learn how to do this the nice people over at diving association Scyllus will teach us on the 14th of april. We will take it easy though and remain in the safety of the pool.

BatavierenRace

Running, for some it is therapeutic while for others it is an hellish task. This did not stop us though when we decided to subscribe for the batavierenrace this year. Our team is complete and you can find us on the 28th of April on the starting line. Hopefully you can also find us again the next day somewhere close to the finish line as well.

General Members Assembly

It is with mixed feelings that I tell you that this will most likely be the last newsletter that I will be making for all of you. This is because on the 24th of April we will have our yearly GMA. Besides showing everybody what we did and achieved this year will this also be the moment for all of you to choose a new board for the year to come.

All Terrain Survival Challenge

The hints have been given and now I am here to confirm it: On the 10th of June All Terrain will have his very own survivalrun! An absolutely epic event where all students throughout the Netherlands will compete to show they can survive the obstacles we put in their way. For this we will need a lot of volunteers though. If you are willing to help us out you can click this shiny button:
Shiny Button
But there is also another option, you can also compete yourself and for this you can click another shiny button:
Another Shiny Button

Survival runs

Apparently it is time for the student runs. All the next runs we have in our agenda are runs made by our sister associations.

Delft 13 May 5 and 9 km
Nijmegen 22 May 5.5 km
Eindhoven 10 June 5 and 7 km
Utrecht 13 June 6.5 km

Hello All and Old Terrainers!

Febrauri, although not the most special of months, it certainly was not boring.

Review

This month we went on in playing together with our sister associations.

NSSW

In the weekend from the 17th untill the 19th of February we had the National Student Survival Weekend. A weekend full of fun and sports in and around camping farm the Runsvoort. Together with as many people as possible from Slopend, Simius Hircus, Tartaros, NSSV FEL and of course All Terrain we tried to make the weekend as much fun as possible, and it sure was a lot of fun.

Exchange NSSV FEL

Not seeing our friends from other cities for more than a week is of course awfully long. A week after the NSSW all associations gathered to the training grounds of NSSV FEL in Nijmegen. Coincidentally it was also carnaval, meaning after the training the costumes came out and the inner city of Nijmegen was visited as well.

In the planning

Unfortunately March will be a quiet one. But this is only because we are getting even better activities in April!

International Cooking Night

By now most of you know All Terrainers like good food. A nice evening we have for this is the International Cooking Night. The idea is that everybody brings something from their home town. Since not everybody is as ‘international’, everybody is allowed to be as creative as they want to be.

Diving Workshop

On the 14th of April we have something special. On that day, diving association Scyllus will teach us the basics of diving. Nice and safely in a pool but a lot of fun and informative.

BatavierenRace

This year All Terrain will, together with ESAC, join the batavierenrace again. This is the largest relay race in the world, starting in Nijmegen and finishing all the way up in Enschede. We will be running deep in the night on the 28th and reach our destination a lot of hours later: a party of the size you would expect of a race this big.

Survival runs

Gendringen has been completed, the next run is already fixed and subscriptions keep on going.

Hello All and Old Terrainers!

Now that we are used to the new year, it’s time for another newsletter.

Review

It was time for a bit of rest after the hectic time of December, that is why we took it easy this month.

Exchange day

On the 14th of January we had a very special training. This training was extra special because it was not just for All Terrain itself, but also for all members of our sister associations. There were people from Delft, Utrect and all the other corners of the country. We conquered the cold weather by training hard and rewarded ourselves afterwards with homemade soup and burgers (and a nice drink).

SBN

It took a while but is has finally happened. Our construction is approved and all the paperwork is done. This means All Terrain is now officialy part of the SurvivalUnion of the Netherlands. This gives us a few nice advantages. Members of the union can train on more times than just Wednesday evening, and survivalruns themselves also become a little bit cheaper.

In the planning

In February we are going at it again! This means a lot of sports, weekends and mostly a whole lot of fun.

NSSW

The weekend of the 17th until the 19th of February it is going to happen. Where previous exchanges were only one day, the National Student Survival Weekend will be exactly what the name says. A whole weekend together with all the other associations doing all sorts of sports and games in the (not so) remote Rundsvoort. A great moment to make new friends and strengthen our bonds. If you still want to register you can do so until the 10th of February. For this you can press this button:
Register Here

Survival runs

A few fun runs are coming up! These are the runs we are definitely joining with a group of people. Of course there is also the chance to meet us somewhere else.

Gerdringen 4 februari 4,5 till 9 km
Zeist 19 maart 4,5 till 9 km

Hello All and Old Terrainers!

Despite all activities of the holidays, we found you guys some time to make a newsletter.

Review

December was nice and busy so there are a few things to look back into.

Dinxperloop

On the 19th of december the Dinxperloop was held, in the no known village of Dinxperlo. Where we had around ten entries previous years, this year we were pleasantly surprised by almost 20 participants. It was somewhat of a challenge to arrange transport and food for this many people. But in the end we were able to pull it off and we had a nice, exhausting, day. A lot of pictures were taken which can be found right here on the website.

Van Lint Sportsweek

After the Dinxperloop our yearly week of sports had just begun. The day after a great battle for glory started in the Sportscentre back in Eindhoven. From monday untill thursday teams competed in the most wacky sports people could think of. All Terrain also likes to join here and so we competed in sports like Wheelchairbasketbal, Canoe-polo and for a first time this year, Vertical Twister. After the battles it was time for a nice beer with everybody.

Christmas Dinner

To finish of the week we had christmastime. We celebrated this with our very own christmas dinner on friday. We had a team of chefs to start cooking around 13:00 to make a complete menu for all our hungry members. People seemed to like it since everything was gone at the end of the evening. Afterward people could lounge around to enjoy the company. A lot of pictures were taken here but at the moment we are still busy sorting them and placing them in a nice album.

Planning

Where december is a month of sports and food, january is a month of recovery and newyears resolutions. Here are a few of ours for the time to come.

Newyears dive

Real die-hards start the year by jumping into the sea. We from All Terrain like to think we are part of this group but we have a little less sea to work with. To fix this we jump into our very own dommel at the end of our first training. Just as refreshing and, if your lucky, with a free bike. The first training of the year will be on the fourth of january and everybody is free to join.

Exchanges

For those who checked the last newsletter, we said we liked to join up with our friends from other cities. Last month we enjoyed a training by Slopend in Delft together with all the other assocciations. On the 14th of january it will be our turn and everybody will come to us. We will have to show them our best!

Survival runs

We keep on running, the next runs we want to join are here.

2016/10/31 – Eindhoven

Hello All and Old Terrainers,
The month of October is at an end and that means it’s time for another newsletter.

What happened

Introduction Weekend

Although our first attempt to welcome all the new members had to be canceled, does not mean we are going to leave it at that. In the weekend from the 21st till the 23rd of October we made a second attempt for this. Luckily this time a lot of people did join us. With about 14 people we once again terrorized the woods of La Roche. The weekend was packed with fun activities, good food and drinks and strong tea! Because it was already the end of October it was a bit chilly but the weather was dry and the fire was warm so that was no problem at all. Everybody agreed that it was a very successful weekend!
