Welcome back everyone to a new online cooking event. After getting rid of all our hoarded food it is now time to do something new. We thought that it is a shame that, because HOLHOW is canceled, we cannot have one of our famous HOLHOW food parties around the campfire. We needed something to replace that.
This time we will be using the oven to bake banana bread. The recipe will be listed HERE. (Vegan option is included)
The steps for making the banana bread can be found HERE. We will however also guide you into making this bread during the event
In total the duration for making the bread will be about 30 minutes. Then followed is a 60minutes baking period where we will sit around online together and tell stories around the “oven fire”. At the end, everyone will have a nice loaf of banana bread for the last few days of the weekend.
Cooking Instructions
Start by preheating the oven to 175ºC, oiling the loaf pan (or line with parchment paper) and chop the walnuts. Put the flour, cinnamon, baking soda and baking powder into a large bowl and mix. Put the other ingredients (bananas, olive oil, coconut milk, sugar, lemon juice, part of the walnuts) in a separate bowl and mix. Now combine both mixes and pour the batter into the loaf pan. Sprinkle with extra chopped walnuts. Bake the bread for 60-70 minutes. Meanwhile, take care of yourself: grab a beer or a nice cold glass of soda. Here comes the hardest part: let the banana bread cool completely before cutting.
