Newsletter October

2016/10/31 – Eindhoven

Hello All and Old Terrainers,
The month of October is at an end and that means it’s time for another newsletter.

What happened

Introduction Weekend

Although our first attempt to welcome all the new members had to be canceled, does not mean we are going to leave it at that. In the weekend from the 21st till the 23rd of October we made a second attempt for this. Luckily this time a lot of people did join us. With about 14 people we once again terrorized the woods of La Roche. The weekend was packed with fun activities, good food and drinks and strong tea! Because it was already the end of October it was a bit chilly but the weather was dry and the fire was warm so that was no problem at all. Everybody agreed that it was a very successful weekend!

Comming up

Fall activities

Summer is over again, the weather is getting colder and the introduction weekend has passed. Perfect time for some of our other standard activities. Like our Knotting course, where we teach everybody some of the useful knots we have. Or international cooking night, where everybody can show where they’re from and the delicious food they have there. When December comes it will also be time for the Van Lint Sportsweek, where we can compete in all sorts of 'strange' sports.

Exchanges

Since last year All Terrain has been sitting around a table with the other student survival associations quiet often. We do this to exchange information and better our bonds with them. One of the best ways to do this is with an exchange. We have a lot of these in our planning. Not only will we join trainings with the others but we also have the NSSW, the National Student Survival Weekend. In this weekend all associations bring as many members as possible to have a fun weekend together with all sorts of activities.

GNSK

Exciting news: every year the Great national Student Championship is held in another city and in 2017 Eindhoven gets its turn again. What is even more exciting is the fact that All Terrain has been approached as one of the sports that will be competed in by the participants. This means we are very busy at the moments to get as much done for this as possible in the hope we can make our very own survival run here!

Survival runs

The colder it gets the more runs we have to do to stay warm. In the beginning of the year we made a nice list of runs we wanted to join, but as expected we are already deviating from this list. The runs we will be joining (so far) are:

Brugge 6 November 6 tot 18 km
Doorn 26/27 November 8/13 km
Dinxperloop 18 December 5/7 km
