Past Events

An important part of being a member of All Terrain is to be able to make proper knots. Not only is it cool to know how to properly make certain knots, it is also essential and helpful during the preparations of our regular training sessions. Hence, every now and then, a knotting course is organized. This time the knotting course will be a knotting night, so we have enough time to properly learn the basic ins- and outs of the most important knots. If you wish to improve your knot making skills, this is a perfect opportunity to do so. We would really like all of our newer (and some older) members to join. 🙂 The knotting night will be on Monday, so you can practice on the following Wednesday(s) during training. This year HOLHOW was so full of activities that we didn't manage to drink all the alcohol we had! To address this obviously big problem, we are organizing a "after HOLHOW" evening: We will hang out in a bit more chill manner, play some games and see where the night will take us. We already have beers, and a bit of wine, so the evening is free. But please register below if you intend to join.

Since the first run last year was a great succes this year there will be the second SurviFELrun of Nijmegen On the 28th of May. This run will be the AMAZING and will have many new ways to challenge your skills in survival. The run will go all around the campus and you will see much of the campus of Nijmegen. Will you survive all the obstacles??? There will be different categories to join this event, you can join either as;

• Solo 5km.
• Solo 7km.
• But this year we will also join the run for the 5km as groups of 4.

The total costs for the run will be 10€, this will include a sport-shirt to wear during the run. The run will start at 20:30 and since Nijmegen is easy to reach we will all go together by train. To join the run in Nijmegen register here.  

Outdoor Valley Rally

For those who want to try a new way of Adventure Racing. After the success of 2017, it will return this year with the Outdoor Valley Rally. A 9 hour Adventure Race. where your smartphone is indispensable. Challenging and mind blowing. A race through the beautiful nature of the Rottemeren area and the hectic city of Rotterdam. Nature meets urban. Be creative and choose the right and fastest routes and for the unique selfie stage: wear your best sports outfit! 😉 Race through the beautiful nature and with a view of the city skyline of Rotterdam. For the 11th Lustrum, the ESSF is organizing a Pub Quiz at the SSC canteen. You will need no money, it's totally free to participate (the money will go to charity) because AT pays your contribution. You will get 5 drinks and free snacks, and I've heard there are prices for the winners! Pub quiz, 5 beers, free snacks, it sounds like fun, right? So join the All Terrain team by subscribing to the event.

On Sunday May 20^th 2018 S.B.V. Slopend hosts the SurvivalStrijd, a yearly run on the TU Delft campus! Do you have what it takes to beat the obstacles?   The choices are: 9 KM Advanced run € 17.50 5.5 KM+ (more difficult) couple or alone € 10.50 5.5 KM Team run or alone € 9.50 If you are not a member of the SBN you have to pay an additional € 3.50 for insurance.   If you want to run solo register HERE, for transportation register below. Want to have a nice active weekend for ascencion this year?

What about joining All Terrain for 4 busy days of sport and fun? We will visit the survival association U-base in Den Bosch to have a survival training at their construction. We will have a full day of canoeing in the Biesbosch national Park (awesome landscapes!!). And because it was not enough sport in the weekend, we will go everywhere by bike!

Of course like every All Terrain weekend you can also expect home-made (barbecued) food, some games, board games, alcohol, and camping! The event will cost € 55,- REGISTRATION IS CLOSED If you still would like to join, please contact Mélanie

All Terrain is the student association that welcomes the most foreigners (we are being very happy with that). While they survive the bitterballen and try to learn a bit of Dutch/Brabants, it is now your turn to discover a bit their culture. You are therefore invited for a French night on May 5th to represent three different nationalities that speak french within All Terrain: Canadian, Swiss, and French. Of course there will be food prepared by our talented French speaking members, but also some wine, and different challenging games. The event will cost € 10,-

Navigator? Team player? Adventurer? All nighter? Even if you’re a 1 time yes, three times no, the Adventure Race Amsterdam is still for you

• In teams of 4, you’ll do different assignments and challenges. Navigation, compassing, mountainbiking, stuff like that.
• The Adventure Race Amsterdam (ARA) is a 14 hour race. If you want to sleep, don’t join.
• Everyone can join: as long as you have a team of 4 (and don’t want to sleep).
• ARA is organized by ASAC and USC.
• Check last year’s photos to see what you’re up against!

When is ARA?

ARA starts on Friday 4 May at sunset. You’ll finish around 14 hours later.

What do you need?

• A mountainbike. You can rent one for €21,- via USC. Rent includes a helmet.
• Check the full list of equipment so you are prepared for ARA 2018.

What does it cost?

Joining ARA costs €120,- per team (including lunch and ARA-shirt in your size: woohoo!).

what are you getting into?

There are various rounds (mountainbiking, running, canoeing) that you have to finish within the time limit. In each round, you’ll have to find as many checkpoints as you can. You can find those checkpoints through coordinates. Smart navigation is more important than speed, as the checkpoints are hidden. In between the rounds you’ll have to perform Special Tasks (e.g. archery or robe climbing). Adventure racing is all about fair play, so… no phones, gps, or navigation tools are allowed. Joining a 14 hour race makes you a winner instantly, but the real winners will be awarded with amazing prizes!         If anyone is interested in joining a team, register below!

Note April 29th but already in your agenda because on this date Steenbergen will organize another fun and challenging run! This year is the 21st time that the run is being organized. As in previous years, the course is set out in the built-up area of Steenbergen. They have a couple-run 6.5km and an individual 6.5km. So its really easy for beginners! Subscribing for the transportation can be done by subscribing for this event!
